University course/camp/field study experience at Widener University
in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. – live the experience!

Option 1: Be part of the next generation of Leaders! Develop core leadership competencies.
Changing factors in society and the world at work have a strong impact on how we lead ourselves and others. In this course, various leadership styles will be examined and the personality traits that enable us to implement effective leadership strategies in our social environments. Factors related to communication, managing conflict and decision-making will also be presented, practiced and discussed.
The Widener University Leadership course offered through the Organizational Development Services is a two week university 3 credit course designed for grade 9-11 students. Students may choose to take the course for University credit or as a non credit University course earning one high school elective credit. Classes will be held at Widener and led by university faculty. Students will work on their own leadership development plan. Learning will be supplemented by university level readings and visits to various landmarks.
Option 2: Be part of the next generation of Engineers! Which engineering field are you interested in?
Widener University will host an Engineering Summer Camp for high school students. This course includes hands-on activities introducing students to the departments of the School of Engineering. The following engineering fields will be reviewed and experienced: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Engineering.
Additionally, the camp will include hands-on robotics activities with AI components especially designed for our ACS Athens students who choose to participate in the engineering camp. The camp will be held at Widener and led by University faculty.
Participants of both the Leadership course and the Engineering camp will experience Leadership in Action and college visits in Philadelphia and DC.
Leadership in Action!
Upon completing either course, you will witness leadership in action in Washington D.C, the leadership capital of the world. Here you will learn from leaders in politics, business, diplomacy, medicine, journalism, service, and military. Visits to the White House, Senate, famous museums and landmarks guided by ACS faculty will give you a more comprehensive and colorful understanding of American History.
College Visits:
To add even more value to this extraordinary experience, you will also have the opportunity to visit at least six university campuses including Georgetown University, American University, George Washington University, Drexel University, the University of Delaware, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Widener University Course in Philadelphia: June 18 – June 26, 2023
Leadership in Action in Washington D.C.: June 26 – July 1, 2023 (Return to Greece July 2)
Cost: 4300 euros (does not include cost for those who want the College Credit/ 3 College Credits at Widener Tuition $1260)
