Gregory Pattakos

Dr. Gregory Pattakos is an attending cardiac surgeon and Associate Director of the Transcatheter Heart Valves Department at Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece. He has a special interest in minimally invasive and transcatheter treatment of heart valve disease. He is U.S. board-certified in cardiothoracic surgery having trained at Texas Heart Institute / Baylor College of Medicine with Dr. Joseph Coselli. He is currently on the editorial board of the Annals of Thoracic Surgery. Prior to his training in Texas, he spent two years as a research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic with Eugene Blackstone. During that time, he participated in the randomized trials of ischemic mitral regurgitation which lead to a change in the guidelines of surgery for ischemic MR.
