For: Upper Elementary (ages 9-11)

Children are naturally curious. The Arkki program uses play-based learning and supports children in their natural ability to wonder and question. Children are facilitated to explore the wonders of the world around them by ideating, hands-on experimenting and collaboration.
Built upon the Finnish National Core Curriculum of Basic Education, Arkki aims to provide children with new capacities, means, and mediums to influence the creation of our future environment using architecture and design projects as holistic real-world phenomena, no matter what their occupation will be.

This masterclass integrates hands-on learning from different STEAM subjects, Humanities and Social Sciences, and supports the development of diverse skills and competencies tailored to students in 3rd to 5th grade.

Students will:

• enhance creativity
• learn the foundations of architecture & design
• integrate the different subjects to understand real-world phenomena
