Boot Camp Prepares Students for the Next Phase of ACS Athens OPEN

May 8, 2023 | News

The Institute of ACS Athens recently hosted a boot camp for middle school and high school students whose ideas were selected to move on to the next phase of ACS Athens OPEN.
This initiative, designed to inspire and support students in making a difference in the world, invited students to submit innovative ideas for creating new solutions on campus, promoting sustainability, enhancing the learning experience, and advancing conscious citizenship. After careful review, ten ideas were selected to move forward.

During the boot camp, the finalists learned about the benefits of building an entrepreneurial mindset and had the opportunity to work with experienced mentors who shared their expertise and guidance to help them refine their concepts so they are ready to hit the ground running when they start the next academic year in September.
Since 60% of all future jobs will be jobs that we know nothing about at the moment, Carla Tanas, Dean of the Institute of ACS Athens, shared the benefits of thinking and working like an entrepreneur. “We navigate uncertainty in a way that has processes and allows growth,” she explained.

The boot camp was a great success, and the participants are now excited to move forward with their ideas. We are thrilled to see what they will accomplish and how they will support the community with sustainable ideas as they continue to develop their ideas and bring positive change to our community and beyond.

In order to make the most of this opportunity, we are inviting mentors from our community to step up to help guide and inspire these future leaders. Please sign up using this form and be part of a movement that will shape the future.
